A documentary-style editorial series for an Istanbul tattoo collective. Capturing the people, the process, and the meaning behind each piece of work.
The collective wanted to step beyond Instagram portfolio posts and tell real stories — the people behind the art, the meaning behind each piece, the craft itself.
They needed an editorial voice that respected the artistry, not a marketing campaign that flattened it into "tattoo content."
The goal: a recurring video series with consistent direction, dramatic lighting, and a documentary feel — something that could live on social but also stand alone as art.
Direction: We established a tight visual language — single warm spotlight, black backgrounds, close-up craft shots — that made every episode feel cinematic without elaborate production.
Content series: Each episode pairs a tattoo artist with one piece in progress. We capture the work itself, the conversation around it, and a portrait moment with the wearer.
Distribution: Vertical cuts for Reels/TikTok, horizontal director's cuts for YouTube, stills for editorial press. One shoot, many lives.
